Exchange rate is the value that one currency has in relation to another currency. It expresses the ratio between two currencies of a currency pair and determines how many units of one currency are needed to obtain a unit of the other currency.

 

Exchange rates of Česká spořitelna

The exchange rate list is a list of exchange rates at which ČS carries out exchange activities.

  • BUY and SELL exchange rate: ČS buys the given currency from the client for the buy rate, ČS sells the given currency to the client for the sell rate.
  • ČS MID exchange rate: It is not a commercial exchange rate and cannot be used for exchange activity. This is only an indicative rate.
  • MID exchange rate of the CNB: It is not a commercial exchange rate and it is not possible to carry out foreign exchange activities for it. It is declared by the Czech National Bank for non-commercial purposes.
  • Date and time: The ČS rate card contains the date and time for which the exchange rates valid are listed.
  • Cash exchange rate list (banknote rates): From 1 January 2020, Česká spořitelna does not carry out cash exchange operations.
  • Foreign currency can only be bought or sold through ČS accounts. In our branches, you can deposit or withdraw cash in foreign currency from an account maintained with ČS.
  • Non-cash exchange rate list (Exchange rates): serve for exchange operations that are carried out without the physical transfer of cash. In an FX non-cash transaction, money is transferred electronically between bank accounts without the need to use cash in the form of notes and coins.
  • Exchange rate list for cash card operations: serve for foreign currency withdrawals from ATMs abroad.
  • Exchange rate list for non-cash card operations: serve for card payments in foreign currency.

Individual exchange rate for non-cash conversion transactions for amounts from CZK 250,000 or the equivalent of this amount in another currency according to the current situation on the interbank foreign exchange market.

You should know

  • Your banker will provide you with an individual exchange rate offer for over-limit conversion transactions on working days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Or you can find it out at the nearest branch.
